Custom borders and blocks

This was an exercise from Bernina’s We all sew. The borders exercise explores using Bernina’s Q-matic system to add computer guided designs to Borders, sashing and blocks of the quilt. All of the designs used were from Amanda Murphy. Computer guided can offer many additional tools and designs to add that custom touch to a quilt. Where symmetry or complicated motifs are called for working with custom computer guided designs provides a perfect alternative. In this case all elements of the quilt were computer guided, but I think there is real opportunity to mix the techniques with ruler work, stitch in the ditch and free motion. The end result takes computer guided quilting to the next level.
